This was last updated on 9-22-25 and is still a work in progress.
The first step that must be following is to go to admin.joindeed.org and activate your account - signing in and/or resetting your PW with your Toysfortots.org email address. No other email addresses will work with this
When you first log into Deeds, you may see these pop ups. There are two versions of this:
Option One: 1 /3 - three pages
This happens if the Foundation has preloaded the needed information
Do not enter Paypal info - or, for that matter, anything else.
Select the following options
Option Two: 1 /6 - six pages [Full Onboarding]
This option will occur if your email address was entered into the Deeds System, but nothing else
Page 1 - Click Skip
Page 2 - Click "That is Correct"
Page 3 - Enter your mission statement. The default language for the Foundation is fine. You must select at least one option from each of the other categories. These categories will be reported to the Walmart you are requesting assistance from, so do not select things that are inconsistent with the Walmart Local Grant guidelines
Page 4 - Enter your contact information. Your Toysfortots.org email will be autopopulated; everything else will need to be manually entered
Page 5 - Enter social media info if you choose
Page 6 is identical to Page 3 on the 'easy' version. Just click "Get Started"
NOTE: Once you have activated your account at Deeds, everything else you need to do will be via the Walmart page. Even though the issues we're having appear to be on the Deeds side, once they're *resolved* the entire grant process runs through Walmart Spark. You should not need to log back into Deeds. Hopefully.
Step 1: Go to https://www.walmart.com/nonprofits
Select "Access Spark Good", then "Public Charity (501c3)
Log in with your Toys for Tots email address. If you do not have a Walmart account, you will need to create one.
If you have not previously set up a nonprofit Profile, you will need to do so.
You should see something like this
If you do not see your campaign listed in the block listed as "Get Verified with Deed",
Stop.
There is an error on the back end that will prevent you from succeeding.
As of September, about 50 accounts are still not set up correctly. This fix is in process
Once the load is complete, Click on the name of your campaign - the bolded underlined words - then click Spark Good Grants
Select the location you want to apply to . You will have to apply separately for each location in your service area.
Do not apply for Walmarts outside your service area. Those locations need to serve their local campaigns. If there is no local campaign, and you do not intend to serve children in that area, your campaign is not eligible for a local grant. You will be risking the eligibility of all Toys for Tots campaigns if you do so
This is how I filled out my application. Several of these options are 'instant fail' - if you select that you are supporting work internationally, for example, you are not eligible for a local grant.
Click the Review button to go to the next page. Review your application, check the checkboxes, and hit submit
You will see an email similar to this. Notice the last sentence. Patience is required here.
If you get approved, you will see an email like the following.
DO NOT CLICK THE LINK ABOVE TO ENTER PAYMENT INFORMATION
YOU WILL NOT GET THE FUNDS. YOUR 21 DAY WINDOW WILL EXPIRE AND YOU WILL LOSE THE GRANT
Valerie at the Foundation should have been CCed on the status above. If so, she will take care of setting up the payment details in the background.
When that is done, you will receive an email like this
The Foundation will transfer the funds into your account. Expect a delay
If you list them as a local sponsor, the apparent request is to use the Spark Good logo. See details here:
Where can I download the Spark Good logo?
You can download a Spark Good logo (.PNG) here
Local organizations are encouraged to use this logo on their website, on social media or in communications to your supporters when communicating to them about your participation in Walmart Spark Good. Any other uses of this logo must be authorized by Walmart Media Relations.
